This week I’m featuring the 13th Annual Grammy awards held on the 16th of March 1971. This ceremony was the first to be televised live in North America. Simon and Garfunkel were the big winners of the night with three Grammys. Other nominees included the first of many appearances at the awards of Elton John and The Carpenters as well as Dionne Warwick, James Taylor, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Aretha Franklin, Joe Cocker, Dolly Parton and The Beatles.
