This week’s Pete Brady Breakfast show at 7 is all about the 60s for the first hour followed by the regular Featured Artist at 8. This week that artist is Dame Shirley Bassey, the first Welsh person to have a No. 1 in the UK singles chart and the only artist to record the theme songs for three James Bond Films. 9am – 11am Yabber Yabber with Chris Capel
My guest on this weeks’ show is John Wilmott from Hungerford. John is the President of the World Grand Masters Hockey Association as well as Chairman of the Hockey Museum. So as you can guess the main topic of conversation will be Hockey but John also has some other interesting things he’s been up to during his life. I’ve also the usual look at the UK economy over the past 7 days during “Business Matters” and Brian Quinn will give a brief overview of news items in and outside of the valley

The highlight of the year for gardeners is often their local flower and produce shows and we have two coming up soon in the Valley – Lambourn’s is on Saturday August the 9th and East Garston on Sunday August the 10th – plus Hungerford’s on Saturday August 23rd.

Chris looks back at last weekends’ King George at Ascot and the first 3 days of the Goodwood Festival. Plus he’ll preview the final 2 days of the Festival with the feature race being the Coral Stewards Cup on Saturday.

We also tell the tale of the sportsman almost killed in a terrible car crash and the famous singer who led a tragic life. The music comes from Linda Ronstadt, JJ Cale, Texas and Ben Harper alongside Jack Johnson.
