9am – 12noon The Grammys with Pete Brady
We are moving on to the 37th Annual Grammy Awards this week. The awards were presented in the Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles on the 1st of March, 1995. Bruce Springsteen was the night’s biggest winner with four Grammys, including Song of the Year. Other nominees I’ll be featuring this week include Seal, Elton John, Bonnie Raitt, George Jones and B.B. King, The Three Tenors, Prince, Luther Vandross, Eric Clapton and the Crash Test Dummies. 12noon – 2pm Andy Westgate's Wall of Sound
On this week’s Wall of Sound we feature tracks from Prince and Kate Bush (pic) in our 2-4-1s. Live @1 captures Bad Company at their best, live on stage and there’s a featured album from Australian Jimmy Barnes. Also in the mix are a couple of punk-ish classics, some American stadium fillers and a Prog-Rock masterpiece from King Crimson.
2pm – 3.45pm Big Ones and New Ones with Andy Henly
Andy has some “New Ones” and “Big Ones” from David Bowie (pic right) and Hot Chocolate. Also, Andy has 5 songs and events from the May from across the years. Try and work out the years from the clues and music and play The Test of Time.
