What’s On 2024-9-27

Here’s what’s on FABULOUS 4LEGS Radio

7am – 9am The Pete Brady Breakfast Show

This week we are back to a two hour show as Chris is Back from his Holiday. After all the rain this week, I hope to cheer you up with some great music as well as my Featured Artist at 8, Doja Cat. She is one of the biggest commercial artists of the 2020s according to Billboard Magazine and was included on the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine last year.
Don’t miss it!

9am – 11am Yabber Yabber with Chris Capel

With a lot of kids about to embark on their first year at Uni in the next couple of weeks my Grandson Morgan, who’s a student at Durham University, provides advice and some valuable tips to help the newbies in what can be a daunting time. There’s also the regular look at the past 7 days in the UK economy during “business matters” and Brian Quinn provides the latest local news and event info  in “What’s New Mr Q”. There’ll be the usual array of great tunes as well.

11am – 12noon This Week with Penny

This week Penny is joined in the studio by local nutritional therapist Sam Silvester (pic right) to talk about how blood sugar impacts the menopause, an issue that not many people are aware about. This is useful not just for female listeners but to partners, friends and family members.

12noon - 12.30pm The Downlands Racing with Chris Carter Brennan

Newmarket takes centres stage at the weekend with Group 1 and Group 2 races on both Friday and Saturday. The feature race being the Group 1 Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes on Saturday. Chris will cast his expert eye over some of the runners and riders and hopefully find the 4LEGS listeners a winner or two. Plus Chris will look back at the past 7 days in the sport.

12.30pm – 1.30pm The Legal & Finance Show with Karen Salmon

Joining Karen on the show is Jessica Garbutt from Riverview Portfolio (accountants) and she’ll be talking about the importance of getting organised—the benefits of getting your self-assessment paperwork together and your return filed early. Karen, with help from new trainee solicitor Sophie Lawrence will be covering the same thing from the legal side—getting organised: wills, LPAs, checking leases, looking at your mortgage rates, etc.

1.30pm – 2.30pm The Gardening Show with Linda & Jane

On the Gardening show this month, Linda and Jane will be reminding listeners that it’s time to sow hardy annuals, take cuttings from salvias, and make plans for a Christmas display of amaryllis.

2.30pm - 4.30pm Face2Face with Tim & Linda Forrester

On Face2Face, Linda and Tim welcome guest Peter Birtwhistle (pic right) who will tell us what to expect in the night sky as the evenings get darker. We also review another trip to the Watermill Theatre, this time to see the new production ‘The King’s Speech’. Plus plenty of news features and good music.
