On an extended Yabber Yabber I talk to Sarah Emery who’s the CEO of Berkshire Youth about the weekends 3rd birthday celebration of the Waterside Centre in Newbury.
I also caught up with local talented music combo “Nash and the Mac” (pic right) in the week to find out what they’ve been up to musically in the past 2 years and what the future holds for them. I took the opportunity to record two of their fantastic recent new tracks for you to enjoy. There’s the latest look at the UK economy during “Business Matters” and Brian Quinn will provide the latest local news during “What’s New Mr Q”
11.15am – 12noon The Local Eco Show
In this week’s Eco Show, Penny discusses the complicated relationship between nature and farming with Vicki Hird, Strategic Lead for Agriculture at The Wildlife Trusts and author of ‘Re-bugging the Planet’, a look at the issues that need to be addressed in our current food production system.

12noon - 12.30pm The Downlands Racing Show with Chris Carter Brennan
Chris looks back at last weekend’s racing including the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Quipco Stakes at Ascot. He also reviews the first three days of Glorious Goodwood and previews the final two which includes the Corals Stewards’ Cup handicap on Saturday. He’ll no doubt pick a couple of horses for you to have a small wager on.
12.30pm – 1.30pm Old Wild Men with Max & Tobi
