This week, I’m featuring the 13th Annual Grammy Awards held on the 16th of March 1971 and it was the the first time the event was televised live in North America.
Simon and Garfunkel were the big winners of the night with three Grammys. Other nominees included Elton John and the Carpenters as well as Dionne Warwick, James Taylor, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Aretha Franklin, Joe Cocker, Dolly Parton and the Beatles. Don’t miss it!
