7am – 9am The Pete Brady Breakfast Show

The perfect way to start the final working day of the week on a cold winters morning. Two hours of great music including my Featured Artist at 8, Georgie Fame (pic right). He had a string of hits in the 60 and went on to be a founding member of Bill Wyman’s band Rhythm Kings. He also worked with Count Basie, Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, Joan Armatrading and The Verve. This edition of songwriters and their stories will be a show full of soul.

If you like great soul and dance music from the 1970’s then you will know the hits that were written by our Songwriters this week Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff (pic right). Together they pioneered the unique Philadelphia sound that dominated the pop charts in the 1970’s.

We will be playing a selection of their soulful hits telling the stories behind them.

On Face2Face this week, Tim and Linda cover a quirky mix of subjects which may include train announcements, NASA spacemen, an anniversary of Listen With Mother (pic) and the origins of some of our everyday phrases. There will be plenty more plus music from Huey Lewis, Paul Simon, Teddy Swims and Alison Russell.
