Here’s what’s on FABULOUS 4LEGS Radio for the Friday before Christmas
7am – 9am The Pete Brady Christmas Show
With Christmas just three days away you should not be surprised to hear a few festive songs during this week’s Breakfast Show. Following last week’s technical problems (no show!), my Featured Artist at eight is The Kinks. This band is regarded as one of the most influential rock acts of the 1960s and early 1970s and I’ll be playing their three songs which appear in the Rolling Stone magazine’s list of 500 Greatest Songs of All Time which was updated in September 2021. Don’t miss it
9am – 12.15pm Chris and Penny's Christmas Feast
Join Chris and Penny for over 3 hours of festive fun. There’ll be several guests popping in for a chat and we’ve a Christmas story narrated by Suzi Cairns. There’s a recording of Christmas Carols sung by children from local schools, and Penny has an interview with Steve Masters about “free bus Saturdays” during the festive period. All this plus our regular local news and events slot, lots of Christmas messages and we attempt to cook mince pies in an air fryer…what could possibly go wrong there?? There will of course be some great Christmas tunes to enjoy as well. It’ll be a festive blast folks.
12.15pm – 1pm The Downlands Racing Show Festive Racing Preview with Pat Murphy & Chris Carter Brennan
In this extended show Pat and Chris preview the big races during a busy festive period including The King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day and The Coral Welsh Grand National on December 28th. Plus some of the great racing in Ireland between Christmas and the New Year.
This show has been sponsored by Sporting Agenda which provides all your sporting V.I.P. experiences
1pm - 1.30pm Old Wild Men at Christmas
For this Old Wild Men Christmas special the show will be broadcast ‘live’ from the studio for the very first time. As you’d expect Max and Tobi have their own Christmas song choices. Tobi’s include songs from Greg Lake, Ed Sheeran & Elton John, whilst Max is more traditional with an acapella Choir and something from a Phil Spectre Christmas album. There’ll be a music quiz and lots of Christmas banter as well.
1.30pm – 2.30pm Pop Quizzical Christmas Special
Join Pop Meister Tim Stutt for a Christmas version of Pop Quizzical featuring a festive themed Connections round and a littering of yuletide songs and questions.
2.30pm – 3.30pm The Absolutely NO Christmas Tunes Show with Chris & Chris
Not one Christmas song will be played as Chris Booth and Chris Capel play some of their favourite tracks and explain why they’ve chosen them. But there will be some Christmas messages and they will talk Christmas and what the festive period means to them both.
