7am – 9am The Pete Brady Breakfast Show

The Coronation is tomorrow! However, as usual today, I have two hours of ‘Get up and Go’ music lined up for you as well!

Featured artist is Meghan Trainor, whose debut single ‘All about that Bass’ went to number one in over 25 countries and sold over 11 million copies.

Looks like the weather is going to warm up a bit as well. What’s not to like!

9am – 11am Yabber Yabber with Andy Westgate

Andy Westgate is filling in for Chris Capel on this week’s Yabber Yabber so there’ll be plenty of music and a bit of chat as Andy anticipates the Coronation and the Eurovision. . Plus this week’s look at UK “Business Matters”.  Enjoy! 

11am – 12noon This Week with Penny

This week, Penny chats with Brian about the success of the Green Weekend in the Lambourn Valley. She also catches up with Luke from Slate Hill Charcoal in Baydon. Luke will talk about the biochar they  produce which is 90% carbon.

With a surface area equivalent to that of a tennis court per gram biochar can bring huge benefits to soil and animals,.whilst locking up carbon for thousands of years. Luke is researching how we can use it to reduce emissions and pollution from agriculture too. 

12noon - 12.30pm Downlands Racing Show with Pat Murphy & Chris Carter Brennan

It’s the first two Classics of the flat racing season this coming weekend, these being the 1,000 Guineas and the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket. Pat and Chris will trawl through the form and can hopefully find the winners of both the races.

12.30pm – 1.30pm Classical Gas with Chris Booth

Did you know that Classical music continued to be written throughout the 20th century and into the 21st?

This week’s Classical Gas features a range of well known ‘modern’ or ‘contemporary’ classical music tunes from Prokofiev to Gershwin, together with the stories behind them. 

1.30pm – 2.30pm The Gardening Show with Linda & Jane

On this month’s Gardening Show, Linda and Jane will be discussing this month’s showstoppers, from peonies to irises and alliums. Plus the seeds xwhich you should be sowing right now. 

2.30pm - 4pm Face2Face with Tim & Linda Forrester

On this week’s Face2Face show, Linda and Tim chat to local astronomer Peter Birtwhistle, who tells us what is going on in the night sky.  He i8s also captain of the bell team, who may well be in action on Coronation day. Plus plenty of regular features and music.
