7am – 9am The Pete Brady Breakfast Show

It may be chilly outside but a cuppa, breakfast and the music from seven to nine this morning will keep you toasty. The Featured Artist at 8 this week is Tears For Fears, the band that won an Ivor Novello Award for ‘Outstanding Song Collection’ recognising their “era-defining Tears for Fears albums” and “critically acclaimed, innovative hit singles”.

9am – 11am Yabber Yabber with Chris Capel

Brian Quinn will give his usual round up of local news / events information and there’ll be a look back at this day in history. Plus, national news items of the week and some great tunes. Enjoy!

11am – 12noon This Week with Penny

Talking to Penny is Dr Liz Bell(pic), a Great Shefford villager since 1990, took five years away from the village from 1997 to 2002, to serve as a British diplomat in Russia. As First Secretary Science, she led a team of Russians at the British Council in Moscow as part of an international aid effort to help the Russians rebuild their country after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

12noon- 12.45pm Downlands Racing Show with Pat Murphy & Chris Carter Brennan

It’s Ladbroke Trophy weekend at Newbury and in this extended Downlands Racing Show Pat and Chris will preview the big race and all the other competitive races at the West Berkshire racecourse. 

12.45pm – 2pm Knock Knock with Suzi Cairns

Suzi talks to Lambourn actor Catherine Chalk about her extraordinary journey from bio-medical science to the silver screen. This is a good news story in a landscape of gloom. As Audrey Hepburn observed, “Nothing is impossible, as the word itself says,— I’m possible! “.

2pm - 3pm Middle Aged Musical Musings with Owen Killminster

Another chance to listen to a previous Middle Aged Musical Musings when Owen plays the music of Stevie Wonder and talks about his career and life.

3pm - 4pm Old Wild Men with Max & Tobi

Max’s theme this week is “Got to have Soul” and Tobi’s is “Love is the Drug.” There’s the usual banter and great music from artists including: Al Green, The Beatles, Joy Division, James Hunter, Aretha Franklin, Ellie Goulding, Elvis Presley, Marvin Gaye and many more…
