A LIVE Festive Concert of “The Snowman” by The Wantage Silver Band

Following their success last Christmas, the ladies and gents at Wantage Band are combining the festive concert experience with the magic of cinema once again. With the loss of Raymond Briggs in August this year, there has never been a better time for crowds to gather to enjoy this 1982 festive masterpiece. This family favourite, The Snowman, has a special place in the hearts of so many and it is no surprise that a performance of the full soundtrack, along to the film on the big screen, is proving a huge hit with tickets selling rapidly in the last few weeks for four performances across Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December at The Beacon, Wantage – the perfect venue in the centre of the town.

Following the bands successful contesting year, resulting in them being ranked #22 in the world brass band rankings, audiences will also hear the band perform other festive favourites such as Jingle Bells, Frosty The Snowman and music from the blockbuster Frozen 2. Each performance will last an hour and is perfect for families of all ages.

One band member says, “It’s a joy and privilege to perform the soundtrack to The Snowman. There are so many ‘goosebump moments’ and I can’t wait for the weekend of performances once again!”

There are still some tickets left which can be booked at www.beaconwantage.co.uk/events/wantage-silver-band-the-snowman

Adults £12, Children £8, Under 2s FREE (on laps). This really is the must-see Christmas event of 2022 and surely there is nothing better than the sound of a brass band at Christmas!

  1. Just been to the first performance of The Snowman.
The musicians are amazing. This can’t be an amateur band? I’ve been to concerts in many venues around the country and this would stand with any professional performance.
    Congratulations everyone!
