Here’s what’s on FABULOUS 4LEGS Radio

7am – 9am The Pete Brady Breakfast Show

The heat is back and so is the Breakfast Show, Friday morning from seven to nine with the best music around. This week at 8, our Featured Artist is Olivia Newton-John who, sadly, passed away last Sunday at her home in California. She was a singer, actress and activist. After recovering from breast cancer in 1992, she became a strong advocate for breast cancer research.

9am – 11am Yabber Yabber with Chris Capel

With the summer holidays in full swing there’ll be a lot of music on today’s show to keep you in a holiday mood. Plus Brian Quinn will give the latest local news and information and there’ll be some lesser known national news items of the week. Enjoy!

11am – 12noon This Week with Penny

This week Penny is out and about visiting home-brewer Steve Folland (pic right) in Great Shefford to hear all about the award he has just won at the Great British Beer Festival for his extraordinary ‘Doggy in the Woods’ stout which has an ABV strength of 16.1% – and is the strongest beer ever to win a CAMRA award. Penny also tests out the new Mini Recycling Centre in East Garston where Lambourn Valley residents can take lots of stuff to be recycled including plastic pots, tubs and trays, cardboard, small electrical appliances – instead of having to drive it all to Hungerford. 

12noon - 12.30pm Downlands Racing with Chris Carter Brennan

4LEGS racing pundit Chris Carter Brennan will preview some of the competitive racing over the weekend including the Group 2 Hungerford Stake at Newbury and the spectacle that is the all grey horses race at Newmarket.

12.30pm – 1.30pm Let There be Drums with Max & Chris

The first in a new series of shows focusing on drumming with Max who knows a lot about music, and Chris who likes to think he knows a lot about drumming and drummers. In this first show they look at some of the origins of drumming, drumming styles / techniques and some  fantastic drummers from the 40’s 50’s and 60’s including Moe Purtil, Gene Krupa (pic right), Buddie Rich (pic left) Elvin Jones, Jor Morello, Brian Bennett and Keith Moon.  

1.30pm – 2.30pm Pop Quizzical with Tim Stutt

Great tunes and poptastic questions from the very popular Tim Stutt, 4LEGS Radio’s Music Quizmaster 

2.30pm - 3.30pm Old Wild Men with Max & Tobi

Another chance to listen to the previous Old Wild Men show with the theme for Max being songs that didn’t make the cut from previous themes and for Tobi, it’s things that Grow. With music from artists including  Neil Young, Orange Juice, Tears for Fears, JJ Cale, The Who, Lyle Lovett and many more..
