Helen Bates (pic right) from Newbury Ukulele Town Strummers (NUTS) is Chris’s guest in the studio and she’ll be talking all things Ukulele plus information about her two piece band called “Juo.” Brian Quinn will provide the latest local news and local event info and there’ll be other lesser known national new stories as well.

This week Penny will be talking to Tim Hirst (pic right) from The Retreat, Elcot Park between Hungerford and Newbury about the fascinating history of the building and the range of events the hotel now offers including their first farmer’s market this Sunday and a lovely Taste of Provence dinner next Wednesday.

In a nod to last week’s record-breaking temperatures in the UK, the theme for this week’s Middle Aged Musical Musings will be the weather – if it mentions the sunshine or the rain, the heat or the cold, it will be in the show
