Ryan O’Connell (pic) has been busy taking on an immense cycling challenge to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK. Over the last few months Ryan has been cycling to each of the football teams in the National League South Division from his hometown of Crawley in West Sussex. Some of the teams he’s been visiting are in excess of 100 miles. For example Bath City in the West is 132 miles from Crawley. He has been arriving at each club before the kick-off of one of their Saturday Home fixtures. Now there are just three weeks of the season left for him to complete the remarkable challenge.
40-year-old dad of four Ryan admits ‘he’s not a cyclist’ and said at the start ‘the first thing he wanted to achieve was better fitness’ . He’s certainly needed that on some of these trips.
Ryan is connected with football and works for the Football Manager series as Head Researcher. For anyone that doesn’t know Football Manager it’s a football simulation game where you can put yourself in the role of Head Coach / Manager.
ApriFrom his challenge Ryan is aiming to raise as much money as possible for Prostate Cancer UK and he’s already raised around £8,000 from his efforts so far. If you’d like to make a donation you can do so by clicking on the following link:
