Jamie Wayman from East Garston makes a quick return to the studio to talk billiards which he has played to a very good standard for 50 years. The original interview on February 18th was severely interrupted by Storm Eunice which knocked out power and interrupted broadcasting. Also, Brian Quinn will be on the phone to cover local news and events and there’ll be the usual smattering of interesting national news items as well as some great tunes. Enjoy!
11am – 12noon This Week with Penny
This week Penny has two guests calling in – Lou Evans from Shalbourne whose husband Mike (pic right) is currently driving essential medical supplies for refugees across Europe to the Romanian/Ukrainian border, and Ceri Hanlon (pic left) on the latest news from The Rose of Hungerford.
12noon - 1pm Downlands Racing (Cheltenham Festival Preview) with Pat Murphy, Colin Brown & Chris Carter Brennan
The Cheltenham Festival starts on Tuesday and in this one hour Downlands Racing Show special Pat, Chris and guest Colin Brown (pic below) will preview the first three days and try to find you the winners of some of the biggest and most competitive races on the National Hunt calendar.
Will the Irish yet again train more winners than the UK? I’m sure our panel of experts will have their own views about that.
1pm – 1.30pm Ukraine Crisis Special - Phoenix Enterprises providing humanitarian support
In this 30 minute Ukraine Crisis Special Chris will be talking to Mike Bowden (pic), trustee and volunteer support worker at Phoenix Enterprises about the much needed humanitarian support they are providing for the Ukrainian people and how you can help or get involved.
As the war between Ukraine and Russia continues with no end in sight we must do what we can to help improve the desperate situation the Ukrainian people find themselves in.

On Face2Face this week, Linda and Tim have a mix of national and international stories ranging from the Church clock which miraculously started working again to the penguin (see pic) who discovered love with the son of his old girlfriend, and from the story of the song The Whiter Shade of Pale to the sighting of the Endurance ship after 100 years under the Arctic ice. The music includes Paul Simon, the Waterboys and Labi Siffre.
