What’s On 2022-01-21

Here’s what’s on FABULOUS 4LEGS Radio

7am – 9am The Pete Brady Breakfast Show

Another upbeat start to the last day of the working week. Two hours og great music including the Featured Artist at 8,  Chuck Berry (pic right), nicknamed “The Father of Rock and Roll”. Don’t miss it!

9am – 11am Yabber Yabber with Chris Capel

Chris’s guest on Yabber Yabber is James Charlesworth, aka “Jim The Bike Guy” (pic right) and as you’d expect he’ll be talking bikes and cycling.  Jim runs a Service & Repair bike workshop in Hungerford for people in the West Berks and Wiltshire area.  As well as Service & Repair Jim can offer advice on bike purchases, accessories and what to wear whilst cycling.

Also on today’s show there’ll be local event information plus local and national news items. Some good tunes will be thrown in as well. Enjoy!

11am – 12noon This Week with Penny

This week Penny chats with Kate Farrington (pic right) from Wantage who started a social enterprise ‘Down to Earth’ in May last year, in an attempt to bring people together to make good use of food, and to bridge the divide between those who struggle with food vulnerability, and the huge excesses of good food going to waste. Kate helps run Sustainable Wantage’s Community Fridge and Larder and also offers sustainable cookery courses and runs Climate Cook-In events with support from Good Food Oxfordshire.

12noon - 12.30pm Downlands Racing Show with Pat Murphy & Chris Carter Brennan

With some cracking racing at Ascot and Haydock this weekend 4LEGS racing pundits Pat and Chris will be sifting through the runners and riders to find you a winner or two. Plus they’ll be talking of any horses to note that may be running at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

12.30pm – 1.30pm Middle-Aged Musical Musings with Owen Killminster

A brand new fortnightly music show with Owen Killminster (pic left). For his first show Owen talks about and plays the music of legendary singer / songwriter Marvin Gaye (pic right)

1.30pm – 2.30pm The 4LEGS Gardening Show with Linda & Jane

On the first gardening show of the year, Jane and Linda take stock of the changes which can be made whilst our gardens are showing their bare bones. They list some snowdrop gardens to visit locally and highlight their gardening New Year resolutions.

2.30pm - 4.30pm Face2Face with Tim & Linda Forrester

On Face2Face this week, Linda and Tim look back at some heroic efforts to pass a driving test and debate the harsh (or not)female view of male shortcomings. We find a hero rat and check out the large potato battling to get in the Guinness Book of Records. Plus music you will know and music you won’t.
