Here’s what’s on FABULOUS 4LEGS Radio

7am – 9am The Pete Brady Breakfast Show

This week marks the tenth anniversary of the death of twenty-seven year old Amy Winehouse. This incredibly talented singer/songwriter will be Pete’s featured artist at 8 this Friday morning.

As usual the rest of the music mix is designed to start the hot summer day in “happy” mode. Don’t miss it!

9am – 11.15am Yabber Yabber with Chris Capel

Local singer, songwriter and producer Kate Sloan (below right) will be chatting to Chris about her recent award for the piece of music she’s written to promote the 4LEGS Radio Lambourn Valley Lockdown Hero awards, which will be launched during the show. There’s also a pre-recorded interview with Lesley Cundy (below left) about her voluntary role at the Berkshire Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) including a number of community tennis projects. There’ll also be some useful audio snippets and great tunes. Enjoy

11.15am – 12.15pm Summer Staycation with Anna & Jack

Newbury Media College Students Anna Bayliss and Jack Simmons present this local summer events show as the final part of their 6 week work placement at 4LEGS Radio, which we hope they’ve enjoyed. They’ll be interviewing a number of people that have organised entertaining events for the summer which are taking place in the Newbury area, including Andy Forster from the Retro Festival and Kirsty Lemberger from Newbury bid. They’ll also share their experiences this year at college and their plans for the summer break. There may be the odd tune or two from their favourite artists thrown in as well.

12.15 - 12.45pm The Downlands Racing with Pat Murphy & Chris Carter Brennan

The King George VI & Queen Elizabeth QIPCO stakes is the big race of the weekend with the Irish trained ‘Love’ looking to make it five Group One wins on the bounce. But will Pat and Chris be tipping the filly to win? Tune into find out.

12.45pm – 1.30pm This Week with Penny

This week Penny meets local author Dr Charlotte Booth (pic right) from Baydon. Charlotte has published 17 non-fiction books with recognised publishing houses without an agent, learning the process the hard way. Based on her own experience and in response to the lack of information out there for non-fiction authors, Charlotte is now offering a mentoring programme for local budding authors.

Penny will also will be talking to local actor Dylan Morris, who is playing Bellepheron in next week’s Boxford Masques.

1.30pm - 2.30pm Pop Quizzical with Tim Stutt

More pop fun with Tim Stutt as he tests your musical knowledge for another 60 minutes. You’ll love the music even if you can’t get many questions right

2.30pm - 4.30pm Face2Face with Tim & Linda Forrester

On Face2Face this week, Linda and Tim’s guest is Ian Herrington (pic), stalwart of Welford Park Cricket club, who play the mighty MCC in a big game on August 3. We also look at the unexpected life of a word famous author and cast a look across all sorts of stories from unexpected snakes to slow tortoises and spurned lovers. Plus lots of music rolling back the decades.
