4 Legs Radio’s broadcasting schedule gets a shake up this Friday. Pete Brady leads us off with the usual cultured, relaxed start, featuring a music list carefully selected to ease listeners into the day. Then, with Chris Capel unavailable, Penny Locke is taking charge of a shorter ‘Yabber Yabber’ this week and will be sharing the show with local musician John Cully. ‘This Week with Penny’ follows, and on this programme, she and Brian Quinn will be talking mental health with guest Emma Mitchell. At 11am, we have the monthly ‘Gardening Show’ in which Linda Forrester and Jane Prior discuss their gardening priorities and anticipate the awakening of our gardens. There’s the usual ‘Racing Show’, this time with Chris Carter-Brennan and Tim Stutt, who will be chatting about the latest issues and news. Tim stays busy with his popular ‘Pop Quizzical’ Show, which is given an extra half hour this week. Finally, on ‘Face2Face’, Tim talks about social isolation with Sue Pearson, chair of All Aboard of Hungerford, and then lightens the mood with a look at Leap Years and the quirkiness of February 29th.

It looks like there may be even more rain in the Lambourn Valley this Friday. We will be doing our best to brighten things up with the right music to start your day. The featured band this week is Bon Jovi. This band has been inducted into the UK Hall of Fame, sold millions of records worldwide but never had a No 1 hit in the UK charts. Don’t miss it.

With Chris Capel Away, Penny Locke takes over Yabber Yabber this week in a shorter slot between 9am and 10am. Her guest is local singer songwriter and guitarist John Cully from Hungerford.
10am – 11am This Week with Penny
On This Week with Penny, Penny is joined by Emma Mitchell, suicide survivor, suicide prevention and mental health advocate, founder of Mental Health Mates Newbury and All Minds Matter. The aims are to help people achieve emotional through Mental Health First Aid training , inspirational talks and peer support.
11am-12 noon The 4 Legs Gardening Show
Resident gardening gurus Linda Forrester and Jane Prior will be looking out at their gardens and checking what is doing well and what is not. Jane has been busy in the greenhouse and is determined to become more self sufficient. Linda has been focussed on getting her summer bulbs ready. Both discuss the challenge of trying to achieve year round colour in the garden and e nd up with a long list of jobs which they recommend to fellow gardeners.
12noon – 1pm The Downland Racing Show
With Pat Murphy away at the Mencap Charity Race Day, Chris Carter-Brennan takes the reins this week and will be joined in the studio by co-presenter Tim Stutt. They will be looking at the national and local racing issues of the moment and looking for the winners in this weeks racing.
1pm – 2.30pm Pop Quizzical with Tim Stutt
Versatile presenter Tim Stutt dismounts after the Racing Show to front his regular Pop Quizzical show. He has an extra half hour today as well and will be challenging listeners with more music questions. See how many points you can score.
2.30pm – 4.30pm Face2face with Tim Forrester
On Face2Face this week, we chat to Sue Pearson, chair of the All Aboard Group, sponsored by Sovereign Housing. Their aim is to reduce social isolation. Next week is Time for a Cuppa week so we will be talking about how communities can be more all inclusive and supportive. Find out what All Aboard do to help. Plus we look at Leap Years and the history of February 29. Music will range from Michael Crawford to Chuck Berry and Fleetwood Mac.
