What’s On 2020-07-10

So here’s Friday’s Fabulous 4LEGS Radio schedule. Enjoy!

7am – 9am The Pete Brady Brady Breakfast Show
The weather is warming up and the music is great. Plus the featured band is Status Quo. What’s not to like? Don’t miss it!

9am – 12 noon Yabber Yabber with Chris Capel
Chris’s telephone guest this week is Graham White, the proprietor of The Plough in Eastbury. With The Plough re-opening this Thursday Graham will inform us of the changes he’s had to make to meet the government guidelines and what people can expect when they visit the pub. Also one of the first people to eat in The Plough since it re-opened will be in the studio to give his thoughts and view of his ‘first night back’ experience.  Plus there’ll be the usual snippets of local news, informative audios, great music and the weekly classic comedy clip from TV / Radio. Enjoy!

12noon – 12.30pm The Downland Racing Show with Pat Murphy & Chris Carter Brennan
Pat and Chris will look back at last week’s Derby, Oaks and Eclipse and preview the weekend’s action featuring competitive Group races at Ascot and Newmarket.

12.30pm – 1.30pm This Week with Penny
Three guest interviews this week. The first is Kelvin Hughes (left), Chief Executive of Newbury Community Resource Centre explains how they recycle furniture donations via the Community Furniture Project to alleviate poverty locally by providing people with essential goods. During lockdown they have also been busy delivering tonnes of free food to many needy local households and they are now able to collect furniture donations which are being fumigated at this time. The second is Poppy Tulloch (below) from East Garston who achieved the amazing feat of running 24 miles in 24 hours this week to raise money for Trindledown National Animal Welfare Trust near Great Shefford.  The final guest is Nicola Morley from Lambourn Sports Club reports that the club is delighted that their re-opening went well last weekend and they have plenty of indoor and outdoor space to welcome new members

1.30pm – 2.30pm Pop Quizzical with Tim Stutt
We visit the 4LEGS Radio archives and broadcast a Pop Quizzical from last year. Will you remember the answers? I have my doubts. Enjoy this entertaining Friday afternoon music quiz.

2.30pm – 4.30pm Face2Face with Linda & Tim Forrester
This week, Linda and Tim have two guests on Face2Face. First off the blocks is Ian Herrington (pic), stalwart of Welford Park Cricket Club, who get their season under way on Saturday. Later, we hear from Katie Wallis who led the Team Scrubbers Group, who have been busy making scrubs and now masks for local front line workers. We have the second part of our Ray Charles story, hear some kids’ versions of Biblical stories and replay some classic old adverts from the 1970s.
