Here’s a summary of What’s On 4 LEGS Radio this Friday 4th October:
There’s more great tunes to get your weekend started on the Breakfast Show. We’ll chat with an archaeology expert who’s been ‘Digging Up Britain’ and preview the big races at Longchamp over the weekend. We’ll also get the latest from the chairman of our local semi-professional football team and catch up with the coach of Lambourn’s under 16’s. There’s another chance to listen to an interview with a mother of quads and a 4 LEGS Presenter will be talking about her newly found International fame. Plus we’ll have another audio recording from 4 LEGS intrepid reporter in Japan. All this plus local news, details of local events and of course some great music.
Friday’s Schedule is as follows :
8am – 10am The Pete Brady Breakfast Show
October has arrived, the sun rises later every day and the changes in the weather can be dramatic. To brighten things up this morning we will be showcasing 70’s music. Listen out for Ricky Lee Jones, Labi Siffre, the Pretenders, the Stones, Aretha Franklin and more. There’s also a Carpenters montage of hits in the first hour and a special feature at 9am on U2’s music which has been re-scheduled from last week due to a technical hitch. Don’t miss it!
10am -12 noon Yabber Yabber with Chris Capel
Chris is pleased to have as his guest this week Mike Pitts (pic) an English freelance journalist and archaeologist who specialises in the study of British prehistory. He is the author of several books on the subject, and is the editor of British Archaeology, the publication of the Council for British Archaeology. Mike regularly broadcasts on BBC radio as archaeologist and critic. We’ll no doubt find out what’s been going on at Boxford recently with the discovery of an ancient Roman mosaic. Plus there’ll be news of some of the local events & activities happening in and around the Lambourn Valley.
12noon – 1pm The Downland Racing Show with Pat Murphy.
It’s a big weekend on the European racing calendar with the prestigious Prix de L’Arc de Triomphe taking place at Longchamp on Sunday. Can Enable win it for a record breaking third time? Listen to this extended show to find out what chances Enable has of creating history or what other horses might spoil the party.
1pm – 1.30pm The 4 LEGS Local sports show
Chris will be chatting to Patrick Chambers (pic) of Hungerford Town F.C, to find out how the season’s going so far and the highs and lows he’s experienced since he was appointed as chairman.
