4 LEGS Radio is on air between 8am and 5.30pm this week and here’s a summary of What’s On:

There’s more great music on The Breakfast show, interviews with Lambourn fete winners, and we meet someone who’s helped organise Lambourn festival events for almost 25 years. We look ahead to one of the last big flat racing festivals of the summer and chat with 2 boys looking to make it big in the world of professional football. There’s also an interview with one of the youngest guests on 4 LEGS Radio happens to be this year’s Lambourn Carnival Queen. We’ll also find out from an expert how to exercise and eat healthily and chat with someone about a project to build a visual, oral and aural record of our villages. All this and to finish off with a Friday Fizz with talk on Coffee Shops, Cyclists and some live music from the lead singer of a 60’s band.

8am – 10am The Pete Brady Breakfast Show

Join Pete Brady for another 2 hours of great music starting at 8 including a feature on The Police and Sting at 9. Other artists guaranteed to brighten the start of your day inside, no matter what’s happening with the weather outside, include Meghan Trainer, Lionel Richie, Tina Turner, Barry White, Queen, Simply Red, Elton John and many more.

10am – 11am Yabber Yabber with Chris Capel

Join Chris for an hour of music and local event information. He’ll also be playing interviews from some of the individuals that helped and took part at last weekend’s Lambourn Fete and announcing the winners of each of the categories .

11am – 12 noon This Week with Penny

This Week with Penny’s guest is Louise Wilkin, Chair of Lambourn Carnival Committee who has been helping to organise the carnival and festival events in Lambourn for nearly 25 years and will be telling us all about the plans for this year’s events over the Bank Holiday Weekend.

12noon – 12.30pm The Downland Racing Show with Pat Murphy

Join Pat Murphy for a rundown of some of the key races taking place over the weekend at Newbury and Newmarket. Plus he’ll be previewing the prestigious Ebor meeting at York which starts on Wednesday 22nd August.

12.30pm – 1.30pm Knock Knock with Suzi Cairns

Another chance to listen to Suzi’s interview with her youngest guest so far in the series Alissia Mooney. Discover the Lambourn Valley through the eyes of an 8 year old and restore your confidence in the future. Alissia also happens to be this year’s Lambourn Carnival Queen

1.30pm – 2.30pm 4 LEGS Local Sports Show with Chris Capel

Hear all the latest local football, golf and cricket news. Plus Chris will be interviewing 2 young boys Charlie Barlow (pic) and Finn Corcoran who play for Swindon Town F.C. They’ll be sharing how they got selected, the commitment needed by both them and their parents, what it’s actually like playing for a local professional football team and their future aspirations in the world of football.

2pm – 4.30pm Face2Face with Pat Heslop and Tim Forrester.

On Face2Face this week Pat and Tim have two guests with very different stories. Firstly they welcome Hayley Kirby (pic) who runs her own business called The Good Place UK. Hayley recently ran a popular Eat4Health course in partnership with Lambourn Surgery and is an expert in personal training and healthy living. She seeks to promote ‘being well’ and wants to spread the message that this is an attainable goal for us all.

Secondly, they look forward to chatting to David Willets, who is going to tell us all about the inaugural Heritage Open Day at St Mary’s Church, Shaw cum Donnington on September 21 . This is all part of an ambitious community based project being launched to build a living visual, aural and oral experience and record of the villages.

4.30 – 5.30pm Fizzy Friday with Jonny Welch

Jonny will be joined by his sidekick ‘biscuit’ and they’ll be talking cyclists, coffee shops and ‘Desert Island Dicks’ Plus there’ll be live music from Jamie the lead singer of the band The Zoots.
