Start the last working day of the week with the usual mix of two hours of really good music plus my Featured Artist at eight. This week, it’s the Beautiful South, an English pop rock group formed in 1986. They had sales of over fifteen millions records by the time they broke up in 2007. Don’t miss it
9am – 11am Yabber Yabber with Chris Capel
Chris’s studio guest is Jim Carter (pic right) who spent many years in the Lambourn Valley. Jim is an author, historian and previously a businessman and a jockey. As an author Jim has written a book called “Hearts of Steel” which covers Naval history between WW1 and WW2. Also on the show will be the usual look at the UK economy with the “Business Matters” slot and Brian Quinn will provide the latest local news and event info. The music on the show will consist of some classic rock tracks. Enjoy!
11am – 12noon This Week with Penny
Penny is joined in the studio this week by Rob Daniels (pic right), Head of Grants at Greenham Trust which has supported 5,000 good causes in West Berkshire and North Hampshire and distributed over £71 million since 1997. Rob will share the highlights of his first year in the role, what a typical day looks like and give us a heads up on what to look forward to in 2024.
12noon - 12.30pm Downlands Racing with Pat Murphy & Chris Carter Brennan
The fantastic jump season moves on to Sandown this weekend with the Grade 1 Betfair Tingle Creek chase and the Grade 1 Betfair Fighting Fifth Hurdle, which has been re-routed from Newcastle. Plus there’s some great racing from Aintree. Join Pat & Chris who hope to find you a winner or two.
