What’s On 2023-08-11

Here’s what’s on FABULOUS 4LEGS Radio

7am – 9am The Pete Brady Breakfast Show

Let me help you start the day with two hours of music that I think will get you upland out feeling good. Plus, at 8am, my Featured Artist this week is Bryan Ferry. He influenced a generation with both his music and his appearance. Bryan was once described as ‘an art object’ who ‘should hang in The Tate’.

Don’t miss it!

9am – 11am Yabber Yabber with Andy Westgate

Andy Westgate stands in for Chris as he’s off to the sunshine with his bucket and spade. As well as the usual suspects, Businesses Matters and Brian, he’ll be talking to Molly Hall from Trindledown Farm about their Open Day on Sunday.

11am – 12noon This Week with Penny

This week, Penny will be chatting to  Veronica Bailey at Fare Wise Travel to get her latest update on travel opportunities. She will also be talking about the need for more foster carers with Keith Langley, team manager in the West Berkshire Family Placement Team at West Berkshire Council.

12noon - 12.30pm Downlands Racing with Pat Murphy & Chris Carter Brennan

After the Goodwood Festival last weekend we can now enjoy the Shergar Cup at Ascot on Saturday. Jockey’s from all over the world compete as teams in the hope of winning the prestigous trophy. We’ll leave it to 4LEGS Racing Pundits Pat and Chris to find you the winner of each of the 6 races.

12.30pm – 1.30pm Songwriters and their Stories with Chris Booth & Tim Forrester

Chris Booth and Tim Forrester combine to front a new programme called ‘Songwriters and Their Stories’. First to be featured are a husband and wife team who wrote hit after hit and were widely admired, the Beatles being among their fans. We pick out the best of their music (and not always the obvious tracks) and we find out the stories behind the songs.

1.30pm – 3.30pm Face2Face with Tim & Linda Forrester

On Face2Face this week, Tim and Linda chat to guest Andy Kempe, who has written a new play ‘The Common People’, which will be performed at Greenham Control Tower from August 17. We also include all our regular features, mixing local and national stories with lots of good music, ranging from The Band to Bowie.
