My Featured Artist at 8 this Friday is Florence and the Machine, an indie rock band that was formed in London in 2007. The band was nominated the “Best New Artist” Grammy Award 2011. 9am – 11am Yabber Yabber with Chris Capel

Chris Boulton (pic right) the CEO of The Greenham Trust will be on the phone to talk about a charity art exhibition in aid of 2 cancer charities where Chris will be exhibiting some of his own work. Brian Quinn will provide the usual round-up of local news and events and there’ll be other national news items from the week. Not forgetting some great tunes as well. Enjoy!

11am – 12noon The Sheepdrove Eco Show

In this month’s Sheepdrove Eco Show Rosie Kindersley explains what is happening on the farm including the creation of a new dew pond as another important body of water on the downs, new circular public walking routes around the farm, and how they maintain their many kilometres of verges as important wildlife habitat. Penny also talks to Plantlife botanist Matt Pitts about why our chalk downland produces such a diversity of plantlife and to environmental management expert Michelle Miles who has created the Sustainable Wedding Alliance, with the support of Sheepdrove, to help wedding suppliers become more sustainable and couples to calculate and reduce the carbon footprint of their weddings.
