It’s the last day of March, the clocks have gone forward and spring should have sprung by now! Following that bit of info is the news that my Featured Artist this week is the Arctic Monkeys at 8. 9am – 11am Yabber Yabber with Chris Capel
Ashley Morris will be in the studio to talk about the Newbury Spring Festival which takes place between the 6th and 20th May. Also, Chris will be chatting to Charlie Walker (pic right) about the latest news on The “Night Fright” C-47 restoration project and when he’s hoping the Dakota aircraft will take to the skies. Plus, Brian Quinn will give the latest local news & local event information and there’ll be other national news items from the week. All this and of course some great tunes. Enjoy!
11am – 12noon This Week with Penny
This week Penny will be talking to local nutritionist Sam Silvester about how to navigate your sugar intake over Easter and also to Nina Rees Howe-Davies about exciting plans for the circus to come to Wickham Primary School.
12noon - 12.30pm Downlands Racing with Pat Murphy & Chris Carter Brennan
As there wasn’t a Downlands Racing Show last week Pat and Chris will review the Cheltenham Gold Cup and look forward to the start of the flat season which starts on Saturday with the usual curtain raiser, the Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster.
12.30pm – 1.10pm Let There Be Drums
It’s part 5 of Let There Be Drums and today the focus is mainly on ‘Hired Guns’ e.g. session drummers. There’ll be drumming snippets from the likes of Jeff Pocaro and Jim Gordon who’ve both played for world famous artists and bands. There’s also an incredible 6 year old, a great drum solo from jazz Drummer Art Blakey (pic left) and a well known drum fill from a certain Mr Collins.
1.10pm – 1.30pm This week's Business Matters
On this week’s Business Matters there’s reports on Broadband price rises, the cost of Energy increases for businesses and house owners take legal action after years of high interest rates.
1.30pm - 2.30pm The Gardening Show with Linda & Jane
On this month’s Gardening Show, Linda and Jane will discuss herbaceous borders, seed sowing and staying on top of all those jobs for this time of year.
2.30pm - 4.30pm Face2Face with Tim & Linda Forrester
On Face2Face this week, Linda is back to join Tim and we look at sleeping times, car parks, very large dinosaurs and busy vicars. The music will include Celtic fusion, Cape Town street music, Gospel and more.
