Here’s what’s on FABULOUS 4LEGS Radio

7am – 9am The Pete Brady Breakfast Show

It seems to be warming up a bit. Once again, Pete will be here with music selected to get you up and out in the right mood to face the day. The Featured Artist this morning at eight is Aerosmith, the best-selling American hard rock band of all time. Don’t miss it!

9am – 11am Yabber Yabber with Chris Capel

Chris takes a look back at this day in history and gives a summary of what’s been in the news this week. He’ll also share some lesser known stories of interest and there’ll be the usual round up of local news and local event information from Brian Quinn. Not forgetting lot’s of great tunes as well. Enjoy!

11am – 12noon This Week with Penny

This week Sarah Roberts is back in the studio with Penny to share exciting news. Following the success of the publication of her mother’s memoir about being evacuated to Kintbury during the second world war, Sarah is writing a sequel about her childhood memories of growing up in Newbury and Kintbury in the 1960s.

Local nutritionist Sam Silvester will also be calling in to discuss a range of topics from the importance of Vitamin D in winter, how much water should we drink and do soft drinks count, to the nutritional value of vegan cheese.

12noon - 12.30pm Downlands Racing Show with Chris Carter Brennan

Due to the recent cold weather National Hunt Racing fans have been starved of action but hopefully with milder conditions forecast this weekend the Cheltenham Festival trials will take place at the Gloucestershire course. Chris Carter Brennan will be on-hand to give the latest news, preview and tips for what should be a fantastic day’s racing. 

12.30pm – 1pm Let There Be Drums with Max & Chris

In show 4 of the series Max and Chris talk about and play examples of the drumming styles of 3 great musicians from the late 60’s and 70’s. These being, John Bonham (Led Zeppelin – pic left), Stewart Copeland (The Police and Curved Air – pic right) and Steve Gadd (Steely Dan amongst others – pic left).  A must listen to show for all you budding drummers out there.

1pm – 2pm Face2Face with Tim & Linda Forrester

In a one hour Face2Face, Tim and Linda look at Meatloaf’s colourful life (pic right), find out how languages change and learn how robots are coming into our domestic lives. Plus a wide range of music from jazz to brass band to 80s rock. 

2pm - 3pm This Week with Penny (Special)

Another chance to listen to Penny talking to Penny is Dr Liz Bell (pic right), a Great Shefford villager since 1990, took five years away from the village from 1997 to 2002, to serve as a British diplomat in Russia. As First Secretary Science, she led a team of Russians at the British Council in Moscow as part of an international aid effort to help the Russians rebuild their country after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
