7am – 9am The Pete Brady Breakfast Show
As usual for a Friday morning, starting at seven, I have chosen music that I believe will put you in the right mood to start the day. Plus, my Featured Artist at 8 is the American singer, songwriter, and dancer Beyoncé, known for her boundary-pushing artistry and vocal prowess. Don’t miss it!
9am – 11am Yabber Yabber with Chris Capel
Chris will be joined on the phone by Gill Leech (pic right), a trustee at West Berkshire Mencap. Gill will be sharing the latest news from the charity including the race day at Newbury Racecourse on March 3rd. Plus Brian Quinn will be on hand to provide the latest local news and local event information. Chris will also look at some of the major news items from the week as well as some of the lesser known stories of interest. There will of course be a selection of great tunes. Enjoy!
11am – 12noon This Week with Penny
This week Penny’s show is all about Robbie Burns, born on 25 January 1759. Tim Hirst will be outlining the delights of Burns Night at The Retreat, Elcot Park on the A4 between Hungerford and Newbury (which was recently voted Britain’s Best Hotel by The Sunday Times). And in the studio will be Alistair Mills (pic left) from Lambourn who actually hails from Ayrshire like Burns. Alistair will talk about the life, times, music and works of the Bard of Scotland and the enduring popularity of the Burns’ Supper which celebrates his birthday.
12noon - 12.30pm Downlands Racing with Pat Murphy & Chris Carter Brennan
With the weather playing havoc to the racing schedule this week Pat and Chris are hoping it improves so they can preview Saturday’s racing at Ascot and Haydock where the feature races are the Grade 1 LK Bennett Clarence House Chase and the Grade 2 Peter Marsh Handicap Chase.
12.30pm – 1.30pm Middle Aged Musical Musings with Owen Killminster
Today’s Middle Aged Musical Musings is a profile of Bob Dylan, one of the most enduring and influential songwriters of all time. Owen plays some of his great music and looks back at his career.
1.30pm – 2.30pm Pop Quizzical with Tim Stutt
More Pop trivia and brainteasers plus some great pop tunes as well with regular Popmeister Tim Stutt
2.30pm - 4.30pm Face2Face with Tim & Linda Forrester
On Face2Face tomorrow, Linda returns to join Tim in a show featuring famous sisters after last week’s look at famous brothers. Additionally we will report on potential new smoking curbs, the RSPB bird count, the history of the Tube and the 40th birthday of TVam. The chat will be mixed with plenty of music.
