7am – 9am The Pete Brady Breakfast Show

Pete’s Featured Artist this Friday morning at 8 is Lewis Capaldi. His first single was released in 2017 and since then he’s had three No 1 singles, 2 No 1 albums and has won 2 Grammy and 2 Brit awards. As usual, Pete will also have plenty of great music selected to start your day with smile. Don’t miss it!

9am – 11am Yabber Yabber with Chris Capel

Yabber Yabber kicks of the New Year in a relaxed fashion with some great music. There’s also alternative national news items of interest, local news and event information from Brian Quinn and the search for anyone that’s performed random acts of kindness in 2022. Enjoy! 

11am – 12noon This Week with Penny

This week Penny talks to Mike Bowden (pic right) from Swindon Humanitarian Aid Partnership about their current appeals for Ukraine and why they are busy making tin candles, as well as his concerns about the state of the NHS. And Penny will also pick his brains on the breakdown of the UK’s energy supply as he worked, prior to retirement, as a lawyer in that sector. 

12noon - 12.30pm Downlands Racing with Pat Murphy & Chris Carter Brennan

Get your weekly racing fix with Pat and Chris as they review last weekend’s racing from Cheltenham, Newbury and Leopardstown and preview Saturday’s action including the Grade 1 Tolworth Hurdle at Sandown Park. 

12.30pm – 1.30pm The Finance & Legal Show with Karen Salmon

Joining Karen for this month’s show is Alex Atkins and Steve Perkins (pic right). The subject matters include Divorce and preparing for tax returns, which are due at the end of January.

We peep back at the old days of BBC weather,  look at a plan full of grave intentions and choose a mix of music to steer us into the New Year.
