The Prince’s Trust in Thames Valley has lots of exciting programmes coming up for young people aged 16 to 30 during the next few weeks.
For the moment all of their online/virtual programmes are available for Young People within the Thames Valley area. This however will be subject to change as we they towards face to face delivery, they will keep people informed of these changes should and when they occur.
Here’s details of the current programmes:
Get Into Data Engineering with Generation (18-29) – APPLICATIONS DEADLINE: Sunday 16th May
Interested in becoming a Data Engineer? This 12 week bootcamp may well be for you. Not only will you receive free training in various programming languages and fundamentals, but you will also be connected with hiring employers once the programme finishes. To help you prepare to meet the employers and find a role, you will be given a Prince’s Trust Mentor to help support you during the 12 weeks and for 6 months after.

Get in Security with Triforce (18-30) (Thames Valley)
Gain insight into working in the Security Industry with this two week in person programme! Gain Level 2 Qualification relevant to working in Security Industry/ Door staff, a FREE SIA badge and first aid qualification, plus employability support and much more!

Welcome Session (16-30)
We are hosting fortnightly welcome sessions for young people who want to find out more information about The Prince’s Trust and our opportunities. These will be held through Microsoft Teams in a video conference format. Young people can watch the presentation and get involved as much as they want. Afterwards, a staff member will follow up 1:1 and progress them onto our programmes.

Sit, Read & Discuss – I Will Not Be Erased by Gal Dem (16 – 30)
This book will change your perspective. I will not be erased: Stories about identity, sexuality, family, love, power and growing up as people of colour. The award winning and inspirational Gal-Dem have published a book representing unheard voices and stories from around the world from the often unseen. Join us at from the comfort of your home, to discuss exerts of the book and reflect what it means to be a person colour inhabiting planet earth. You will leave this event enriched, motivated, learning and meeting others who are rowing the boat in the same direction.

Get Started with Games Design (16-25)
An amazing one week program for any young person ages 16-25, interested in unlocking their potential. Whilst on the course young people will, learn about the games industry, pitch a design idea, develop their confidence and self-esteem and have the opportunity to talk to artists and game developers from Sony Interactive Entertainment. Furthermore, after the week there will be the opportunity to gain a progression mentor, with support up to 6 months after the programme has finished and be eligible for a DA Award.

Google I.T Support Certificate (18-30)
The course is three months long, with 15-20 hours of study per week. When you pass, you’ll receive a highly respected certificate to impress potential employers with.

Development Awards (16-30)
Our Development Awards can cover the cost of course fees, tools or equipment up to £160 in order to help young people achieve their goals and move into education, training or employment. For more information, visit our website here.
Achieve (16 – 25)
The Achieve programme aims to create opportunities for young people by helping them to increase their confidence and develop the skills that they need to succeed in whatever they choose to do next.
