7am – 9am The Pete Brady Breakfast Show

The weather is a bit warmer and the music is hot. Another Friday and two more hours of great, get up and go music! This week, following the news at 8, Pete’s featured artist is the boss, Bruce Springsteen. Don’t miss it!

9am – 12noon Yabber Yabber with Chris Capel

Ninety Two year old Former Royal Marine John Spencer Hall OBE talks to Chris about his life and his book ‘Battle for Crete’ , which has been recently republished and is an account of the German takeover of the Greek Island in WWII. John was appointed the OBE in 2011 for his services to business, charity and work with young people in London. Today’s other guest is Martin Colston, the leader of Newbury Town Council. Martin  spoke to Chris earlier in the week about a survey that’s been launched by Newbury Town Council in conjunction with Berkshire Youth to ask the younger people in Newbury what matters to them, what effects them plus their ideas and opinions to influence future activities, events and opportunities in and around Newbury. Plus there’s the usual round of local news, informative audios and great tunes. Enjoy!

12noon - 12.45pm The Downlands Racing with Pat Murphy & Chris Carter Brennan

Join Pat and Chris as they preview Cheltenham’s last fixture before the festival in March. The fixture has 5 top class graded races including the Cleeve Hurdle with the popular Paisley Park lining up and hoping to repeat last years win in the race on the way to the festival.

12.45pm – 1.30pm This Week with Penny

This week Penny talks to Veronica from Farewise Travel in Hungerford about the reality of travelling in 2021 including advice on safe staycations, justification for travel, covid insurance, peace of mind guarantees, visa applications, rescheduling of flights, quarantine, covid tests and vaccinations – and future sustainability of travel including carbon offsetting.

1.30pm – 2pm On the Fence with Michael Quinn

On today’s On The Fence Michael discusses how he realised that his attention span had been destroyed by the distractions of the modern age and how he was able to claw some of it back through a book recommended by a friend.

2pm - 2.30pm Uploaded with Ellie Chelton

This week on Uploaded Ellie speaks with Jemima Floyd who works for the Industry and Parliament Trust (IPT), who discuss working alongside parliament and life under lockdown

2.30pm - 4.30pm Face2Face with Tim & Linda Forrester

Today’s Face2Face show includes more details on Billy Connolly’s life, the sad tale behind Combe Gibet, the heroics of a very loyal dog and a surfing duck and the story of a remarkable climb by ten Nepalese climbers. Music contributors include Billie Holiday, Harry Nilsson and Nathan Evans, new king of the sea shanty.
