Here’s what’s on Fabulous 4LEGS Radio

7am – 9am The Pete Brady Breakfast Show

Another Friday and two more hours of great, get up and go music! This week, following the news at 8, Pete features the music of one of the most influential figures in pop music history – Phil Spector. Don’t miss it!

9am – 11.15am Yabber Yabber with Chris Capel

It’s another busy Yabber Yabber with two guests. The first is Suzanne Hubbard (right) who is one of the instigators of “My Speaker Friend”  which is a project to provide speakers and different content to people who cannot get out too much or live on their own. The second is Kirsty Heath (below left) from ‘Get Berkshire Active’ who talks about the virtual gentle chair exercise sessions they offer for those that are less mobile and physically less able amongst us. Plus there’s the third and final recording of BBC Radio 4’s ‘Down Your Way’  which was broadcast by Lord Oaksey in 1989 and features Simon Sherwood, jockey of the great Desert Orchid and one of Lambourn’s greatest trainers Jenny Pitman (right). All this plus great music, local news and informative audios. Enjoy!

11.15am – 12noon This Week with Penny

This week Penny talks to Dan Gaskin from Hungerford Financial Partnership about all things financial from the impact of the pandemic on the world economy to how individuals can plan best for their retirement. 

12noon - 12.30pm Downlands Racing Show with Pat Murphy & Chris Carter Brennan

More racing news and tips from the 4LEGS Radio racing pundits. This Saturday there’s racing from Ascot which features the Grade 1 Clarence House Chase and from Haydock, which features the Grade 2 Peter Marsh Handicap Chase. Will they find the winner of both? Tune in to find out their selections.

12.30pm – 1.30pm The 4LEGS Gardening Show with Linda & Jane

On the January Gardening Show this week, Linda and Jane compare plans for their very different gardens, talk about their favourite suppliers and set out key tasks, which need actioning to prepare your garden for the Spring. Plus tips on maintaining your lawn in this wet weather, the benefits of a range of house plants and music from Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone and Ed Sheeran. 

1.30pm – 2.30pm Pop Quizzical with Tim Stutt

More teasing pop questions from the 4LEGS music maestro. Enjoy a variety of tuneful conundrums and connections with answers that might be on the tip of your tongue.

2.30pm - 4.30pm Face2Face with Tim & Linda Forrester

On Face2Face, Tim and Linda find out how the Government explained the mysteries of decimalisation 50 years go. Listen to the jingles and devices created to help to explain the changeover. We hear the first part of Billy Connolly’s life story plus contributions from Jimmy Stewart and Les Patterson. We find three new reasons to feel positive about combatting Covid and the music includes Fleetwood Max, Bill Fay and Maxine Brown.
