What’s On – 2019-11-01

Join us for our normal bright and early start at 7am with The Breakfast Show which will include music from Eric Clapton. We’ll talk autumnal dishes and recipes with a local chef,  there’ll be a piece on the West Berks Climate Conference and we’ll aim to pick a winner or two at the weekend’s race meetings. There’s another chance to listen to an interview with a local racehorse trainer and you can test your music knowledge during the 4 LEGS pop quiz. Plus with Remembrance Day almost upon us we’ll hear of an army veterans experiences and stories from his time spent in war torn countries.  Throughout the day there’ll be news of local events, local issues and of course music for all ages.  So why not listen to 4 LEGS Radio for another great day’s broadcasting.

7am – 9am The Pete Brady Breakfast Show
A new month and a new featured artist at 8am – Eric Clapton.  The rest of the programme is designed to start your day in the right mood – bright and ready for anything!

9am to 11am Yabber Yabber with Chris Capel
As a 26 year old Military Policeman Graham White (pic) never thought 24 years down the road he would own a successful gastro pub, this being The Plough at Eastbury.  So with his exceptional culinary skills Chris has invited Graham on today’s show to share a couple of autumnal dishes with their recipe’s for 4LEGS listeners to try at home.

 

 

 

11am – 12noon This Week with Penny
In the studio with Penny is Steve Masters and Claire Willsher from West Berkshire Climate Action Network

who will be reflecting on the West Berkshire Climate Conference which took place earlier in week.  Brian Quinn will be running through some of the key local and national news items.

 

 

12noon – 12.30pm The Downland Racing Show with Pat Murphy
Pat will be previewing the feature race of the weekend which is the bet365 Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby. Plus he’ll try and find a winner or two, possibly at Newmarket where they stage the last flat race meeting of the season with a 9 race card.

 

 

12.30pm – 1.30pm Knock Knock with Suzi Cairns
Another chance to listen to Suzi’s interview with local racehorse trainer Jo Davis (pic) and hears her convoluted journey to the Lambourn Valley.

Another round of this popular 4 LEGS pop quiz to get your teeth into.

2.30pm – 4.30pm Face2Face with Pat Heslop and Tim Forrester
With Remembrance day imminent and poppies on sale everywhere, Pat and Tim talk to army veteran George Smith (pic), who saw action in Northern Ireland, Afghanistan and Iraq. George worked in bomb disposal teams and, as he tells his story, we will be reminded how much we owe to our servicemen, who risk their lives to protect us. As ever, Face2Face will have an eclectic mix of music plus news of local events, anniversaries and stories which caught the imagination.
