Paul Gray, who managed the Gunby Hall gardens for the National Trust for thirty years, was a welcome guest on Face2Face on September 12. Paul recounted his journey from 19 year old garden boy to garden head, achieved within a two year period. This involved studying hard to pass the RHS exams and having the confidence to grab every opportunity and push himself forward. Paul stayed in Lincolnshire for thirty years, in the main to ensure his daughters completed their education. Subsequently Paul moved down the Cotswolds to manage the Wiliamstrip Estate for eight years. Now retired, Paul is enjoying an outdoor life, walking, camping and gardening, but can occasionally be persuaded to front local talks which mix gentle and humorous insights on leading a good life with gardening wisdom.
We hope Paul will return to 4 Legs in the Spring to give valuable advice on preparing your garden to burst back into life.
