Joshua Khan, landlord of The Great Shefford pub, is delighted with the response to the opening of the village pub, which has been closed all summer during an ambitious facelift. Previously called The Swan, the pub still features much of the old logo but nearly everything else has been improved.
With the removal of the scaffolding, the intricate outside detail is now visible whilst early pictures of the inside show the care and attention which has gone into the refit.
The 7pm launch on Wednesday was only open to villagers and was packed. The Reverend Miri Keen, the local rector, was asked to provide a blessing. Subsequent days have remained very popular and initial feedback is encouragingly positive.
